About Pen-Y-Bryn House

Just four rooms make up Pen-Y-Bryn House, a small B&B in Llangorse near Brecon that trades scale for a more personal stay. Set within the Brecon Beacons area, it gives easy access to walking country, along with fishing and watersports nearby for those wanting more than a stroll.

Rooms come with air conditioning and free WiFi, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day. There's a restaurant on site for evening meals, a garden for quieter moments, and a lift for those who'd rather skip the stairs. The property also doubles as a wedding venue, and luggage storage is available for guests arriving early or leaving late.

Free on-site parking makes it a straightforward base for exploring the surrounding national park and the town of Brecon itself. It's a compact, well-equipped stopover for those who want the Beacons on their doorstep without the fuss of a larger hotel.

We stayed at The Loft, which is a self contained apartment. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The amenities were great. There's a beautiful garden to wander around with ponds, lots of wildlife and 2 rather snarky parrots! 🤣 Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from 2 pubs, and the community shop. The Lake is about a 20 minute walk, and offers lots more wildlife and beautiful views

We stayed in the Loft which is self catering. Beautiful area and the house itself is very well kept and welcoming. It was perfect for two of us for a few days and we had the most peaceful time

This is a review for The Log Cabin, the latest (self-catering) addition to Anne's B&B / self-catering haven in lovely Llangors. The location, by the way, is ideal for hill walks, and not far from the delightful shopping town of Brecon. The Log Cabin (new in May 2021) is very thoughtfully kitted out, with an electric cooker, good well-sprung mattress, thoughtful lighting and all you'd expect (gorgeous sink design in the en-suite). Even the freezer compartment in the very decent fridge is generously proportioned (be careful not to accidentally turn the control dial down like I did!). Outside is a great bit of decking including table, chairs and barbecue. To the side of The Log Cabin is a duck pond, and I got to see mother leading her ten or so ducklings into the water. The beautifully kept garden is really large, with several benches and semi-hidden areas, and guests have unlimited access to all of it. The small touches are excellent: two small bottles of wine, cookies, plus warm Welsh cakes provided halfway through my stay. If you are coming in winter, let me say that at present heating options seem limited to one blower heater, but after all I did visit in June and Anne has experience (the Loft next door) of keeping self-catering places warm. Anne is an efficient and friendly on-site hostess who will leave you alone or engage your queries/conversation according to your wishes. Thoroughly recommended, and excellent value too.

Great place and had lovely 3 peaceful nights in the tranquil green surroundings. The only problem is that you need your own transport since this area lacks public transport and the nearest taxi service is about 5 miles away. Secondly, there are 2 pubs within walking distance but it is advisable to book them far in advance. I would recommend the Red Lion pub since the Landlady was more understanding and fitted us in even though it was busy. We enjoyed horse riding, mountain climbing and boating in the beautiful Llangorse lake. The breakfast provided was fresh and tasty . Lastly, the owner is very friendly, helpful and hospitable. Would highly recommend this place.
