Worst place I've ever stayed. The shower doesn't work properly in the ensuite, the lightbulb is burned out, there's no soundproofing, you can literally hear who's in the next room, the carpet is dirty, not to mention the worst part, the owner enters your room without permission.

When you pay £50 a night, you reasonably expect a decent standard of accommodation. Unfortunately, that was far from the case at Admiral Blake Guesthouse. The mattress was so old and uncomfortable that I had to use the duvet as a makeshift mattress topper just to be able to sleep. The shared bathroom was in poor condition, with visible mold on the ceiling, and no soap was provided. To make matters worse, the hot water tap was leaking all night, producing a constant and very loud noise. I reported the issue, but although someone briefly came to look at it, nothing was done and no solution or compensation was offered. Cleanliness was also lacking. Despite being asked to leave the room between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for “cleaning”, the tables were still covered in dust. Five hours should be more than enough to wipe basic surfaces. Soundproofing is practically nonexistent. You hear every single noise from neighboring rooms. Sleeping between loud snoring and the sound of a leaking tap, on a stone-hard mattress at £50 a night, lulled me into the illusion of rest.

Arrived yesterday and am staying until Tuesday with my 2 children, 18 and 9, was welcomed by the manager Dave and other guests, room nice and clean can't fault it and nothing is too much trouble, comfortable beds, coffee making facilities in room which is a win in my book, nice little garden to sit in, was dubious after reading some reviews but in my opinion can't fault it for the price!! Will definitely be back

Terrible experience. The hotel is noisy, right next to a main road. On day one, housekeeping thought we had checked out and went through our belongings without permission. Worse still, a staff member aggressively used a key to enter our room at 8 PM while we were inside, claiming to check for smoke — no alarm, no smoke, no explanation. We called the police and left immediately. This place is unsafe and utterly unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.
