Honister Slate Mine Adventures

Really enjoyed our trip down the mine. Made all the more enjoyable by our guide, who had the right amount of humour and entertainment Vs detailed information, keeping everyone including the children on the tour engaged. A good 90 minute trip, including the short bus journey, definitely worth the cost of the tour to see England's last working slate mine and learn the history behind it all. Well stocked shop, with everything from wine racks and door signs to fridge magnets, cutlery and garden items, including custom while-you-wait sign engraving, all of it with the quality slate from the mine. Stunning views all around too

What a fantastic day out!!! My boyfriend and I booked onto the Via Ferrata Classic as we weren’t sure if we’d manage the Xtreme version without previous climbing experience. When we arrived the team were really encouraging and suggested we swapped onto the Xtreme course and we are SO glad we did. We were in a small group and took our time going round - we never felt rushed. It was such an exhilarating experience with fantastic views of Honister Pass from above. All the staff from reception, to the briefing & kit teams, to the guides out on the course were friendly, helpful and put you at ease. 10/10 recommend!!

Did the mine tour with my almost 80 year old mum and two teenagers we all enjoyed it,the guide was superb and definitely worth going. Mum managed great the terrain was uneven and mum uses a stick, there are lots of steps downwards, but all doable for a determined lady. She really enjoyed it. Also teenagers and I went across the Infinity bridge which was thrilling made more so by the wind, definitely coming back to do more of the adventures.

Great fun. An accident and road closure in Borrowdale caused a lot of participants to be late arriving but the staff were very flexible and accommodating to ensure no one missed out as a result. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience well done to all the staff who managed the early chaos.
