I stopped off at Brodick Castle during a road trip across Scotland, as it was one of the places I really wanted to visit — and it didn’t disappoint. The Isle of Arran itself is stunning, but the castle and its gardens really add to the charm of the area. The setting is beautiful, with views overlooking the coast, and there are plenty of paths to wander through at your own pace. The gardens are full of interesting and unusual plants, which makes it feel like there’s always something new to discover as you walk around. One of the things I’ll always remember is a small hut decorated entirely with acorns and natural materials, creating this intricate, almost mosaic-like artwork. It felt really unique and quite enchanting. Some of the plants within the gardens are huge — towering over you — which makes it really fun to explore. I also spotted wildlife along the way, including red squirrels, which was a highlight. The only downside for me was access to the castle itself. I had my chihuahua with me, and dogs aren’t allowed inside — which is understandable, but worth noting. The grounds are dog-friendly, just not the interior. I’d definitely visit again, especially to go inside the castle next time. It’s a really charming place with a lot of character, and I’d love to experience more of it.

An absolutely fantastic castle and grounds run by some of the most lovely and knowledgeable volunteers. From beginning to end of our visit we were greeted with freindly faces who we had a good chat with about the grounds and the history of the site. Truly a must to see if you visit the Island. Great stuff will definitely be returning.

IIt's a great place to explore if you're a fan of plants and flowers. The gardens are beautiful and well worth visiting. We didn't have time to visit the castle, but you could easily spend 2–3 hours exploring the grounds. Definitely worth a visit!

Brodick Castle is a truly beautiful place to visit and a highlight of the Isle of Arran. The setting is absolutely stunning, with the castle sitting beneath Goat Fell and surrounded by expansive, well-kept gardens. Although the castle itself was closed during our visit, we still thoroughly enjoyed exploring the grounds. The gardens are lovely to walk through, with a great mix of open spaces and more sheltered, peaceful areas. It is a very relaxing place to spend time and take in the scenery. Unfortunately, the coffee shop was also closed, which was a bit disappointing as it would have been nice to sit and enjoy a drink after our walk. Despite this, it is still well worth a visit for the setting alone. It feels very well cared for and offers a calm and scenic experience. We would definitely like to return another time when everything is open to enjoy the full experience.
