Shingle Cottage

Shingle Cottage comes ready for a self-catering break with everything needed for cooking and comfort already in place. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer; heating, hot water, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with two singles—served by a bathroom with both bath and cubicle shower. Downstairs, the living room has a freeview TV and DVD player, a gas fire for cooler evenings, and a separate toilet. A utility room with washing machine means you can manage laundry during your stay. Travel cots and highchairs are available on request.

The cottage sits a short walk from Whitstable's pebble beach and town centre, where independent shops, galleries and delis line the streets. The working harbour is nearby, and you can watch fishing boats unload their catch. Whitstable's annual Oyster Festival takes place in July. Cyclists will find the Crab and Winkle Way accessible with local bike hire available, leading towards Herne Bay and its sandy beaches. Canterbury cathedral lies 8 miles inland, reachable by boat along the River Stour. Pubs and restaurants are around 200 yards away. The enclosed garden with terrace and furniture provides outdoor space, and one well-behaved pet is welcome. Non-smokers only. Please note the property has steep and narrow stairs.
