Canterbury's River Stour draws walkers, cyclists and kayakers, and Grove Ferry sits at the heart of it all. The Boat House overlooks the working boatyard and water itself, making it a genuine base for exploring the area rather than simply somewhere to sleep. The river here opens onto wider water—good for paddling, birdwatching, or simply sitting on the decked terrace with a view that changes with the light and season.
The property sleeps eight across three bedrooms spread over two floors. Downstairs you get a games room with books and a TV, a shower room, and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The first floor holds the main living space—a large lounge and dining area that opens into a conservatory with doors onto the terrace. The kitchen has modern appliances and handles proper cooking. Upstairs are the three bedrooms, including two with en-suite or adjacent bathrooms. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and wifi come as standard. One well-behaved pet stays free. Private parking fits three cars, and the enclosed garden means younger children and dogs have somewhere safe to play.
The property is non-smoking. It works for extended families, groups of friends, or anyone who wants the sound of water and the rhythm of a working boatyard outside rather than the noise of a town centre.

Just back from a lovely 4 night break in this delightful house. The surroundings are so quiet and the views are beautiful. The sunsets from the front balcony are lovely too. We were fortunate to have good weather and went out for walks everyday, however, the roof terrace also benefits from having a large conservatory perfect for sitting in and watching the birds. The house is fully equipped with essentials and we also received some welcome goodies to get us started, and treats for the dog. I loved the quirkiness of it and there’s a lot of space in all the rooms. Another plus is that some supermarkets deliver there so no need to spend your precious holiday time traipsing around doing a food shop. It really is a lovely place to stay for a peaceful break.
