Santon Farm Cottages - Hawthorne Cottage

Photo: Hawthorn Farm Cottages

The countryside around Ware, between Canterbury and the Kent coast, offers quiet walks and easy access to larger towns. Hawthorne Cottage sits on a working farm of 21 acres, a restored detached property with Flemish gables and original features intact. The ground floor holds a living room with Freeview TV, a kitchen/dining space with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a bedroom and bathroom—useful if stairs are difficult. Upstairs, two further bedrooms complete the sleeping space for six guests.

The cottage comes with parking for two cars on site and wi-fi throughout. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. You'll find a garden with seating and a BBQ, and an electric car charging point if needed. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The village of Preston-next-Wingham is a mile away; a shop and pub are the same distance. Canterbury is a 20-minute drive, and the Saxon Shore Way is accessible via walks through the surrounding orchards. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

Recently stayed with my sister in Primrose cottage. So clean nice comfortable. Lots of tea, coffee & sugar for us & even some milk in fridge. Also snacks. Steve was so helpful in giving my sister a walking frame & a walker to go out with. I asked my sister what she liked best about it & she said nothing is best because everything is best. Which I agreed.

We had a lovely family holiday in Primrose cottage. Steve was very friendly and helpful when we arrived. As a disabled person i found the cottage to be well equipped and spacious. We hope to return again. John and Mary

We stayed two nights. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. A nice welcome on our arrival and everything we needed for our stay had been thought of.

A cosy, pretty, clean, quiet place to get away from it all. Great location for visiting Sandwich and surrounding areas. Owners very friendly and helpful.
