About Copthorne Hotel Cardiff Caerdydd

Cardiff's mix of castle, stadium and waterfront is easily reached from the Copthorne Hotel Cardiff Caerdydd, which sits back from the bustle beside its own tranquil lake on Copthorne Way. With 135 rooms across five floors, it suits everyone from business travellers to families and dog owners, as pets are welcome throughout.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and family options for those travelling with children, though some are due a refresh and lean towards the traditional rather than the newly renovated. Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar serving breakfast buffets, packed lunches, kids' meals and a Sunday roast, plus a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for warmer days. Staff are consistently described as helpful, and free on-site parking is a genuine plus in a city where that's not a given.

Beyond the hotel grounds, golf, fishing, horse riding and entertainment are all within reach, alongside nearby pubs and restaurants for evenings out. It's a practical base for exploring Cardiff without needing to stay in the thick of it.

Lovely hotel. Booked this at the last minute after being let down by another booking.com accommodation 18hrs before we arrived. So pleased we did. On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly staff and they gave us an early check in for free. The room was great, much bigger than a typical premier inn room. Lots of storage, bathroom was a good size and very clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Went for breakfast then next morning, buffet style and had everything you'd expect. Lovely breakfast and only £15 each. One slight drawback was no A/C but there was a fan in the room. We needed it on Saturday night! Would definitely book again.

The hotel is excellent, it is starting to look a little tired in parts and it would be great if they re-opened the pool. That said the staff were excellent, extremely helpful and accommodating. We were travelling with our now disabled dog and they were extremely thoughtful. Both the dinner and breakfast were good, as was the service during the day. The lake was perfect for walking around in the morning and evening.

We stayed here over the weekend and we were pleasantly surprised at how great the hotel was! When we booked it was the best price around 👍 And the room was ultra clean! Had a fridge (always useful) Had a smart Tv (luxury for a hotel) and had iron and electric fan too! Great facilities! The bar and restaurant was a beautiful space overlooking the lake! And what made this 5 stars 🌟 all round was the staff! They were exceptional, especially Ryan on reception who went above and beyond for us! Making us feel very welcome 🙏 So we fully recommend this hotel to all, and we will definitely be returning! Excellent stay thank you to everyone ☺️👍

Delicious Sunday Lunch with a lovely lake view. Perfectly cooked meat, crisp roasties, rich gravy and fresh sides - all served family style on a platter, which we loved. Service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere in the bar & restaurant made the whole experience feel unrushed and relaxed. Highly recommend if you’re searching for the perfect roast in Cardiff.
