About Premier Inn Cardiff North
With 150 rooms across six floors, Premier Inn Cardiff North is a straightforward base on Pentwyn Road, close to the A48(M) and within reach of Cardiff city centre. Free on-site parking is available, including provision for vans, lorries and coaches for those registering their vehicle at reception.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, and accessible rooms are available. On-site facilities include a restaurant and bar serving evening meals, with breakfast also offered, though some guests have found the breakfast selection limited at busy times. There's a 24-hour reception, a lift, and meeting rooms for those travelling on business, and staff are consistently noted as friendly and helpful. It's worth noting that a few guests have reported rooms not always being kept to the highest standard of maintenance.

What guests say
The hotel was decent. Clean, comfy mattress, functioning air-con. The check-in was lacking. Can only use electronic check-in machines. No mention of parking or registration number during the process (which would solve the problem I had). I didn't see any staff around to offer assistance or point out the need for car registration. The parking feels like theft to be honest. Legally it isn't of course, but the process is so subtle, that when you're fined and you realise what's happened, you think of the 'reading the fine print scene' in some old cartoon with a maniacal, cackling face in the background. Despite the fact that the hotel is far away from the city centre, self-contained on its own plot of land behind some nice trees...the car park is not owned by Premier Inn. Fast forward three weeks and I get a joyful letter telling me how I owe a parking fine for parking at the hotel, but not registering my car. The car park was ok, but it's was not worth £57. I went to a different Premier Inn a few days later and the set-up was great. It was obvious the car needed registering, facilities to do so were obvious, right next to the front desk. And another massive hint, the plot of land also had a restaurant that non-guests could visit too, so it would make sense to distinguish between those only eating and those staying. If the registering of car details was made part of the check-in process, this whole issue would be resolved, and then I'd say it was a great place to stay.

A very comfortable night's sleep in this hotel. Despite the close location to a very busy road, the sound proofing was excellent. Very comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great choice at the restaurant which is part of this hotel, not separate. The aircon was bliss! Thank you

I had a really pleasant stay at Premier Inn and wanted to give a special mention to Milad. He was extremely friendly, welcoming, and professional throughout my stay. He went out of his way to help make everything stress free and was especially helpful with my allergen request, making sure I felt comfortable and looked after. Customer service like this really makes a difference, and Milad is a credit to the hotel. Thank you again for the excellent hospitality. I would definitely stay here again!

The rooms were lovely, clean, and nice. Great value for money. The room was comfortable. I would have stayed another day. The entrance to the building had a strange smell, like a urinal. Breakfast was atrocious! Long queues ment that food was scarce! We were told to come back in 20 minutes, but some stayed in the queue. Therefore, when we came out of the queue to sit down with my family, it meant we had to wait longer! When we finally got seated, there was no food at the hot plate! No eggs, no hashbrowns, and some bacon was half raw! And a few sausages. Scrambled eggs were microwaved and then mashed like mashed potatoes! This is unacceptable. The scrambled eggs smelled raw. Disgusting. I ate a little because I was hungry. I asked for gluten-free bread. I was told they ran out! I noticed people who didn't book for breakfast paid for breakfast there and then. Not a good system if you're not prepared for it.
