About Pasturewood Holidays
Tucked into the splendid Cumbrian countryside roughly 20 minutes from either Carlisle or Penrith, Pasturewood Holidays offers a blissfully remote escape without the schlep. Owners Richard and Rachel (and their dogs) extend a warm welcome, pointing you to your contemporary luxury pod complete with parking right outside – no wheelbarrow required. Inside, expect a comfortable made-up double bed, ensuite bathroom, well-equipped kitchen with ceramic hobs, fridge and all the crockery you need, plus a TV you'll likely ignore in favour of watching sunsets from your picnic table.
Guests rave about the cosy pods with private hot tubs, the peaceful atmosphere perfect for unwinding, and Richard and Rachel's willingness to go above and beyond. They can supply firepits, charcoal barbecues and essentials like washing-up liquid or toiletries. For anything else, Dalston village (10 minutes' drive) has a shop, country pub and chippy. Whether you're here with family, friends or just your four-legged companion, this small site delivers stunning countryside views and a chance to properly reconnect with nature.

What visitors say
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My partner and I have just returned from the most wonderful weekend at Pasturewood Holidays and are already wanting to plan a return visit! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. Our glamping pod was beautiful, modern, spotless, and incredibly peaceful. It felt so private and relaxing, allowing us to completely switch off from everyday life. The whole site is exceptionally well cared for, and you can see how much pride and attention goes into every detail. There were so many thoughtful touches that made our stay feel extra special, from the dressing gowns to the hot chocolate and coffee waiting for us. One of the best surprises was arriving to find the hot tub already warmed up and ready to use. Sitting in the hot tub, taking in the stunning views and peaceful surroundings, was pure bliss. The laminated leaflets providing local information was great! We went for a nice walk around Rose Castle area, thanks for the info! We stayed in the Quiet Pasture and absolutely loved being around the animals. Getting to see and feed the goats and sheep was such a lovely experience, but the highlight for us was feeding the baby lambs. It was such a special memory and something we'll never forget. The staff were genuinely some of the friendliest and most welcoming people we've met. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and their kindness really made our stay even more memorable. We also loved the little shop on site, which had some lovely gifts, and being able to grab a coffee from reception was another thoughtful touch that added to the experience. It's rare to find somewhere that exceeds your expectations in every way, but Pasturewood Holidays did exactly that. Every detail has been carefully thought about, and it truly shows. We couldn't have asked for more from our weekend away. Thank you to everyone at Pasturewood Holidays for creating such a beautiful, relaxing, and unforgettable place. We left with full hearts, wonderful memories, and a strong desire to return. Hopefully we'll be back again very soon. Thank you, Grace & Lewis xx

We had such a lovely stay here. The place was spotless and really well kept — you can tell the hosts put a lot of care into it. It was incredibly peaceful, and getting to feed the lambs on the property was such a sweet highlight. Getting into the pod was super easy, everything was straightforward and stress‑free. We’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in the Lake District. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely stay at pasture view pod this weekend, great location and pod was absolutely spotless. Rachel went above and beyond with her communication before we arrived and throughout our stay. The Woodfire hot tub was ready for use on both days and was a brilliant addition to our stay. We had such a relaxing weekend just want we needed. We will definitely be back in the future.

Our stay here was so nice, and from the minute we walked into the pod it became one of my favourite places we've visited. The pod is exceptional with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The added extras just made it perfect. The robes, complimentary bath bombs, seasonal decor, and seasonal treats on the bed. The hot tub was pre lit and ready to go on arrival at no extra cost and the pod warm and cosy. Waking up with cup of tea outside and a chat with the local sheep was lovely and the view is beautiful. The grounds are so well kept the whole place looks like its well cared for. The reception is well stocked with things you may need, toiletries, snacks and coffee to go. Saves you travelling out unnecessarily. There are leaflets in the pod with everything you need to know from places to eat, fun places to visit local walks and important phone numbers you may need. This has been the most lovely stay and we will definitely visit again
