Thistlewood House

Thistlewood House accommodates up to 12 guests across six bedrooms, making it suitable for extended families, multi-generational gatherings, or groups of friends seeking a shared base. Two bathrooms serve the bedrooms upstairs. The ground floor contains a dining room centred around a solid oak table, a drawing room with substantial seating, a games room with a snooker table, a study, and a living room without television—useful for families wanting a quieter space. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with an induction hob, range, dishwasher and American fridge freezer. A utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside, three acres of grounds include lawns, a field, a courtyard with raised pond, and a pavilion set up for table tennis and other games. Garden furniture and a barbecue are available. Parking accommodates ten cars. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included; logs for the wood burner too. Two cots and a highchair can be provided on request. The property is no-smoking throughout.

Set near Carlisle in rural Westmorland and Furness, Thistlewood House stands between Penrith and the city, within reach of the Caldbeck Fells and the villages beyond. The house itself dates from the turn of the 19th century and sits Grade II listed.
