Alice Guest House

I had a lovely stay for one night, though I wish I had booked two nights as I really enjoyed my stay. The bed and pillows were super comfy and everything was clean. The communication from the hostess was great and in the morning I ordered poached eggs which were perfect. I appreciated Karen fulfilling my request to have breakfast early. The bathroom was very clean as well. Excellent value for money and I would certainly recommend Alice’s Guest House.

I had a really nice stay at Alice’s Guest House. Karen, the host, was lovely, made a fantastic breakfast, and was very accommodating. The place was clean, well-kept, and in a great location with plenty of food options nearby. While there’s no parking on-site, the Westgate Car Park is just around the corner. It's free from 8 PM until 9 AM in the morning (and until 10 AM on Sundays), which is really convenient if you’re driving. Overall, a great experience and excellent value for the price. Definitely recommended!

Having booked in advance, I arrived after dark to Alice Guesthouse Cheltenham. I stayed for one night 27-28th September 2025. ◦ Not a good experience! ◦ The doors of the poorly maintained cabin were swollen leaving gaps where the cold air came in. ◦ I had to sleep with the heater on all night. ◦ Part way through the night I discovered that the bedding was stained and smelt of mould! Disgusting! ◦ The lighting in the main room of the cabin was not adequate. I could not see to make a hot drink safely. ◦ I couldn’t see to read because the lights were so dim ◦ I tried to watch the tv which was not initially working, the antenna wires were disconnected. ◦ I had to reconnect it and then retune the tv. ◦ The heater in the bathroom did not work; therefore too cold to have a shower. ◦ I was told that breakfast was available between 07:30 and 09:00. ◦ When I went across for breakfast, the proprietor told me that on Sundays breakfast is not until 08:00! ◦ She turned me away because she had to go out and buy eggs! She,Karen I believe, did not enquire as to whether I was happy or comfortable with the accommodation. ◦ The cabin had clearly not been maintained, looks like a dilapidated shed!

This is one of the most dirty,run down vile establishments I've ever stayed in to the point I left early. A drunken man shouting all evening, blasting music, smoking illegal produce, rang the lady to tell her its late can you sort it out to be told I've had many calls tonight I can't do anything. Absolutely disgusting
