About Alexandra Lodge Guest House
Chester's compact centre, with its old walls and easy walking distance to shops and eateries, makes a good base for a short break, and Alexandra Lodge Guest House sits on Hamilton Street within reach of it all. It's a straightforward, well-run guest house rather than a grand hotel, with a reputation among past guests for friendliness and comfort.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks provided, and space for families where needed. Free WiFi is available throughout, and there's a garden for guests who want a bit of outdoor space. Reception operates around the clock, so arrival times are flexible, and luggage storage is on hand for those with trains or flights either side of their stay.
Free on-street parking nearby is a practical bonus in a city where parking can be tricky. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries are all close by, along with a golf course and entertainment options for those wanting more than a walk round the walls. It's a no-frills option that puts guests within easy reach of what Chester has to offer.

What guests say
Me, my partner and our baby girl, stayed here for 2 nights. The room was immaculate and so lovely! The bed was extremely cosy, there is storage to put away clothes during your stay, and we also had an en suite which was very convenient and super handy with a little one. There is a microwave, and mini fridge, for all to use, but we ate out mostly as there is plenty of restaurants and bars local. The area itself is lovely! As mentioned no small number of places to have a bite at, local shops to grab any groceries you need, and shops to just have a gander in. A bus stop just around the corner, or if you fancy a walk, you can do so for only 20minutes and you'll be in Chester! We had a pram with us and found we very rarely had any issues getting into places! And the lodge itself was spacious on entry and they were kind enough to have us in a ground floor room so no need to worry about carrying it up and down as we could just wheel into the room no stress! Gillian and Hilary were incredibly friendly and charming! And we even got to see their gorgeous dog who is gentle and kind. Honestly a 10/10 experience, this was our first time staying away from home, and it was truly lovely. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area, especially as the price is very good when compared to other lodges or hotels nearby. Will definitely be staying again when we next visit Chester!

Lovely location in Hoole, only a short walk from the town centre. We had a lovely stay.

Located in Hoole just right outside city of Chester. Getting into city easily by public or private transport or 20-ish mins on foot. Room was clean. Simple and cozy room as advertised. Quick and easy checking in and out. Provided a treasure hunt to explore around Hoole and led us to the city in an enjoyable way! We loved our stay.

This is a fantastic guest house. Very well maintained and spruced every day by the owner (Gill), who is a lovely lady. She is very meticulous and cleans every room daily. The house is situated in an ideal area with access to everything you can need, all within minutes from the home. Restaurants, cafes, local parks, Chester train station, and Chester town centre, which is a must visit with its quaint tuder buildings and plenty of walkways and small garen stop spots to sit and relax. The rooms are very clean with new furnishings, modern sinks and dressing mirror. Nice clean carpeting throughout the guest house. Modern smart TVs and comfortable beds. There is a microwave and fridge to use, too. There are several shower rooms to use, and depending upon the room, there are en suite showers. There is a local laundrette about 5 minutes away, which is very reasonably priced. There are also some gyms nearby if required. It is a better stay than some of the other guest houses in the area, which are more business orientated. Whilst Alexandra guest house is run by a lady with years of experience who is conscientious and looks after everything properly. It is also better priced than most. If visiting Chester, it makes touring a breeze whilst staying in a nice residential area.
