About Rowton Poplars Hotel
Rowton Poplars Hotel has the feel of a well-established coaching-style property, set back from Whitchurch Road on the edge of Chester. It's the kind of solid, unfussy hotel building that has grown into its role over the years, with gardens and outdoor seating giving it a more relaxed, spread-out character than a city-centre block.
Rooms are en-suite and come in a range of configurations including family and accessible options, with drinks available in room and a general reputation for being clean, comfortable and generously sized. There's a restaurant and bar on site, with breakfast served each morning and a menu that includes Indian cuisine alongside more familiar dishes, all pitched at reasonable prices. Free WiFi and 24-hour reception cover the practical side of a stay, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward.
Outside, there's a garden and picnic area for those who want to sit outdoors, while a golf course, pub, restaurants and entertainment can all be found nearby. Staff are consistently described as friendly and professional, and the hotel is generally regarded as good value for money, making it a sensible base for exploring Chester's historic attractions.

What guests say
Reasonably priced B&B close to Chester Zoo, easy to find and park. Our rooms were spotless and good size (could do with a chair!) Although breakfast was extra, it was very good indeed.

Paul was amazingly flexible with a later check in due to circumstances beyond our control. The staff were very attentive, but not overbearing, just good old fashioned customer service. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very generous portion wise. It is a short drive into Chester city centre so ideally located. Thanks again for your flexibility and great service Paul.

Didn't stay at the hotel just went for food. It's a curry house. Food was great. Saw beer pumps but alas they were from when it wasn't a curry house ( no beer). So it's bring your own. Plenty of parking and it's just off the A41

The location is good, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean though very small. The kitchen was closed due to renovations but a continental breakfast was offered. It was very, very poor, with less available everyday. We should have declined the £15.00 per head.
