That you encounter a little gem, nestled in between the City's amazing architecture, forms part of London life. Situated a few minutes walk from London's Fenchurch Street railway terminus, The Ship is an atmospheric venue, alive with regulars and gamblers glued to the screens, anticipating that big win. The warm and friendly bar staff add to the somewhat crowded excitement of downstairs. If a quieter experience is what you seek, then there is additional seating upstairs, in a lovely little room, equipped with a darts board. Although I have not tasted the food, I will make a point of doing so on my next visit.

Went where for a pint whilst carrying out our city of London mystery walk. Great little pub that has darts upstairs (that you don’t have to pay for) if you want to go to a proper London pub. I would def suggest this pub

Oh, where do I even begin to describe the wonderful experience I had at this tiny British pub?! First of all, let me just say that it's small, but don't let that deter you, because this pub packs a mighty punch when it comes to character and charm. We walked in on a Friday night after just flying in from Australia and we were hit with a wave of Britishness that almost knocked me off my feet. From the wooden bar stools to the cozy fireplace, everything about this place screams "God Save the Queen!" But the best part was definitely the local professionals who had all gathered to end the week. The beer selection was good. They had a variety of brews on tap. After such a long day it was like drinking liquid gold, if liquid gold tasted like a refreshing ale. Now, I will say that the pub's size did make for some interesting social interactions. My partner ended up helping one of the work groups carry out a chap who had clearly had a great time that afternoon! But honestly, those quirks just added to the overall charm of the place. It's like a cozy little cocoon where you can escape from the outside world and just enjoy some good beer and good company. So if you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by this pint-sized pub. You won't regret it!

19th-century, traditional dark wood pub, for real ales and classic pub food in upstairs dining room.
