Came here a few years ago and it wasn’t very good. Gave it another shot last Friday night and it was phenomenal. Amazing food, great service, lovely atmosphere and reasonable price for the quality. Highly recommended. The service was really friendly snd professional. The crab and aubergine arancini was superb. The sourdough though cold was absolutely lovely. The mains of tagliatelle and lamb was great. The lamb in particular was a very generous portion with great flavours in the accompaniments. The sides of polenta fries and hispi cabbage both fantastic. For the food, this came up to about £100, which all things considered was very fair. Glad they turned things around and would definitely come back with no hesitation. Well done

Visited Sorella yesterday and had a really good experience overall. The staff were brilliant with allergies, taking the time to answer our questions and making us feel confident about what we could order. We started with the olives, which were nice, although I wouldn’t have complained if the portion had been a bit bigger. That’s more personal preference than a criticism of the restaurant. We also had the crispy pork arancini and the carbonara arancini, and both were excellent. The starters were definitely the highlight of the meal. For mains, we both ordered the beef ragu. It was very tasty, but when it arrived, one bowl noticeably looked like it had around half the portion of the other. It’s difficult to tell from the photo, but it was quite obvious in person. We also ordered the crispy potatoes, which were a pleasant surprise, perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The only dish that fell short for us was the tiramisu. It was probably 20% sponge and 80% cream, so it lacked the balance and texture you’d usually expect. The only real criticism I’d make is the atmosphere. The tables were candlelit with small overhead lamps, so it had all the ingredients for a really cosy, intimate setting. Unfortunately, the main lights were much too bright, which took away from that ambience. Dimming them slightly would have made a noticeable difference and created a much warmer dining experience. The service, however, was outstanding. I didn’t catch our waitress’s name, but she absolutely made the meal. She was genuinely helpful, unintentionally funny, and had great energy throughout. At the end of the meal, she brought over some almond biscuits. I think she either noticed how much we enjoyed them or overheard us talking about them because she came back with another bowl without us even asking. I genuinely had to stop myself from asking if I could take a whole bag home. Great food, fantastic service, and a team that clearly cares about the customer experience. A couple of small improvements to the dessert and the lighting, and it would be very difficult to fault. I’d happily come back.

If you’re wandering around Clapham and looking for a spot that feels like a warm hug but tastes like the Amalfi Coast, Sorella is the one. Tucked away on Clapham Manor Street, it’s the kind of neighbourhood gem you almost want to keep a secret, but it’s just too good not to share. The vibe is effortlessly chilled; stripped-back wood, soft lighting, and a buzzy atmosphere that isn’t so loud you have to shout over your Negroni. It’s perfect for a relaxed date night or a proper catch-up with mates. The real star is the food. The menu is a love letter to Italian produce via a Sussex farm. I started on this, my second visit, with new things from the menu. Starting with a crispy pork and an asparagus pangrattato, both were just perfect, in taste and portions. This prepared me for the lamb main dish - and additional side of broccoli - which was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful with very complimentary accompaniments. And to finish, I went for something as light as possible, affogato with a twist, the vanilla gelato being crowned with a wholesome salted caramel sauce. Don’t skip the drinks! They make their own vermouth here, try the their cherry-smoked Negroni if you want something with a bit of a twist. I accompanied the food with a couple o f large glasses of red, the perfectly recommended Sangiovese. If you’re visiting mid-week, keep an eye out for their set menus or ‘pasta & wine’ deals—they’re incredible value for the quality you're getting. Service is spot on; friendly, knowledgeable, and they don’t rush you out the door. It’s authentic, unpretentious, and easily one of the best meals in South London right now. If this was helpful, please ‘Like’!

I don’t usually write reviews, but this place was special! The carbonara arancini, asparagus, focaccia, and crab and lemon pasta were all amazing and had a great flavour and texture balance. Staff was also kind :] It can get a bit loud so I would recommend going with small groups.
