What diners say
Very cool setting and lovely dark lit bar, also great tasting red wine but that’s about it for the positives. The meat board was pretty small and we only got 4 small bread pieces between us with it - given that we saw them take the meat out of shop packets we really should’ve been given more, meat boards for a comparable price at other places come a lot bigger. The raclette starter was also a tiny shallow measure of raclette with teeny tiny cornichons. I also completely get that because of the setting and age of the building, rain can sometimes leak through. However, when we can in for our booked table, the seat was all wet with the rain so we had to grab paper towels at the bar to wipe it, with the waitress unbothered and telling us “well it’s an old building”. Sure, but if you know you have people coming for a booking, maybe check and wipe the seats? The main annoyance though was the discrepancy between the online wine menu prices and the price at the bar, as shown in the photos, eg Austrian wine carafe £15 online vs £23.5 in the bar, that’s a pretty crazy difference and I likely wouldn’t have booked this place if I knew these were the prices. We did go on valentines but there was no indication there was going to be different pricing, if this is even the reason. This is very disingenuous. Shame about the negatives but they are pretty significant, we unfortunately would not visit again.

we did struggle to find the location but it was a super cute & chill wine bar! staff are so nice and considerate, they recommended us some good wines (orange wine was unique!) On sunday nights there are limited food options so maybe get dinner elsewhere

This place is an interesting concept, it is located in an old bathroom below the street. It is certainly rustic and they’ve kept a lot of the original decor. It could use a little clean however, there were many cobwebs and visibly dirty corners. The service was ok, the waiter has difficulties knowing which cheese was pasteurized. We ordered a banana old fashion and a regular old fashion showed up. By the time the waiter finally came back 1/4 of the old fashion was gone, when the issue was brought up he agreed to bring another one out. To our surprise they just added the banana liquor to the original drink so then the flavour was overwhelming. Otherwise the cocktails were good. The cheese plate was decent but definitely not enough crackers for everyone and quite a small portion for the price. Overall this place is an interesting concept but they have work to do in terms of their service and atmosphere.
