Lower Shipen is a single-bedroom cottage on the owner's working sheep farm between Launceston and the Cornish coast. The whole property is yours alone, set among 140 acres of countryside with a lake and wild gardens to explore. One dog stays free of charge, though you'll need to keep it under control in sheep country; stabling is available if you're bringing a horse.
Everything happens on the ground floor: a living space with patio doors onto an enclosed courtyard, a kitchen equipped for real cooking, a double bedroom, and a wet room shower. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are all covered. You have private parking and an outdoor courtyard with furniture and a barbecue. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.
The location puts you within reach of Bodmin and Dartmoor for walking, the North Cornish beaches and coves, and the market town of Launceston seven miles away. Shops and restaurants are four to seven miles distant. No smoking inside.

We would highly recommend the cottages. Sarah and her family are wonderful hosts, who cannot do enough. We went with our 1 year old son for his first little holiday. The family were so lovely with him. He had the best time! Travel cot and highchair is already provided, so saved us some space in the car. There is plenty of cupboard space. Cutlery, mugs plates etc are all provided. We were provided with the best tasting fresh eggs ever (so nice we asked Sarah for some more when we left). We also were greeted with wine and chocolates, which was lovely after a long drive. The walks around the farm are beautiful. The friendly cats and little Ralph were another highlight to our visit. We will definitely be back again! Thank you!

Lovely cottage in a rural location. Very nice family. But unfortunately the cottage needs some TLC. The photos are obviously when it was new. Which is a shame it’s still not to that standard. I will not return.

5 stars is not enough to rate the friendliness of the hosts and how nice the place is. The place was very clean, and was already warmed up for our arrival. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils to cook any type of meal. Every room in the place is very spacious. The owners let our 3 year old feed the newly born lambs and horses which she absolutely loved. We will defiantly be coming back here again for another short get-away. It has that home away from home feel.
