Brazzacott Cottages - The Stable

Photo: barry eaves

North Petherwin is a quiet village in mid-Cornwall, positioned between Launceston and the coast with easy reach of both Bodmin Moor and countryside walks. The Stable is part of Brazzacott Cottages, a converted barn on a 140-acre working sheep farm where you have the whole property to yourself. Two bedrooms—one double with patio doors to a courtyard, one with two singles—and a bathroom with bath and shower suit a family or two couples, sleeping four in total.

The open-plan kitchen and dining room has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and all essentials for self-catering; the sitting room upstairs has a television, DVD player and Xbox. Heating, electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are all included. Outside there is an enclosed courtyard with furniture and a barbecue, plus access to shared gardens where a lake sits within the grounds. One pet can stay free of charge. Launceston town centre is seven miles away with its shops and restaurants; the North Cornish coast, golf courses and riding are all within reasonable distance. The property does not permit smoking.

We would highly recommend the cottages. Sarah and her family are wonderful hosts, who cannot do enough. We went with our 1 year old son for his first little holiday. The family were so lovely with him. He had the best time! Travel cot and highchair is already provided, so saved us some space in the car. There is plenty of cupboard space. Cutlery, mugs plates etc are all provided. We were provided with the best tasting fresh eggs ever (so nice we asked Sarah for some more when we left). We also were greeted with wine and chocolates, which was lovely after a long drive. The walks around the farm are beautiful. The friendly cats and little Ralph were another highlight to our visit. We will definitely be back again! Thank you!

Lovely cottage in a rural location. Very nice family. But unfortunately the cottage needs some TLC. The photos are obviously when it was new. Which is a shame it’s still not to that standard. I will not return.

5 stars is not enough to rate the friendliness of the hosts and how nice the place is. The place was very clean, and was already warmed up for our arrival. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils to cook any type of meal. Every room in the place is very spacious. The owners let our 3 year old feed the newly born lambs and horses which she absolutely loved. We will defiantly be coming back here again for another short get-away. It has that home away from home feel.
