Charlestown Cottages - Gwelmor
Cornwall

Charlestown is a Georgian village that has barely changed in a century—the harbour, its visitor centre and tall ships, the restaurants and pub are all within walking distance of Gwelmor. A mile south lies the beach at Carlyon Bay; the coast path beyond offers serious walking territory. St Austell, three miles away, has the usual shops and choices; the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are within easy reach for a day out.
The cottage itself is Grade II listed, set back from the street with its own small garden and parking. Inside, there are two bedrooms—a double and two singles—and a bathroom with bath and shower. The living room has a log burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering: electric cooker, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer all do their job. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are included, as is fuel for the burner.
The place suits families and couples after a quiet base within reach of both seaside and countryside, with the bonus of a genuinely historic village to wander round. No smoking indoors; there is a cot and highchair available if needed.
