Porth beach is a few seconds' walk from Driftwood, a detached cottage in a quiet courtyard with its own parking and decked terrace. The beachfront pub is on your doorstep. Newquay's seven beaches, surf schools, leisure centre, cinema and shops are within minutes, either by car or on foot via the coastal path. Further afield, Padstow's restaurants and the Camel estuary cycling trail are easily reached, as is Truro.

The cottage has one bedroom with a zip-and-link bed, an ensuite shower room, and an open-plan living space upstairs with a woodburner, dining area and kitchen. You get a fridge, electric oven, gas hob and microwave for cooking. An external utility room (shared) has a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and initial logs for the fire are included. There are 14 steps to the entrance and to the decking.

This suits two people looking for a coastal base within reach of both quiet beach time and the busier attractions Newquay offers. No smoking.
