Higher Lanvean Farm - Merlin View

Photo: Najmin Begum

Merlin View opens onto a ground-floor living space where patio doors lead straight out to a dining area and enclosed garden. The kitchen sits in the same open room, with an electric cooker, dishwasher and full fridge-freezer for self-catering. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a double, two singles, and a bunk room, served by a single bathroom with shower over the bath. Bed linen is provided, heating comes via air source heat pump, and wi-fi is included.

The cottage stands on a working organic farm in a rural valley, surrounded by open countryside with views toward the sea at Mawgan Porth. You have access to 15 acres of woodland with a nature trail, where farm animals graze and wildlife moves through the valley. Two miles away is a sandy beach; Newquay and Padstow are within 8 miles. The village of St Mawgan, a mile off, has antique shops, a pub and a tearoom. One dog is welcome outside July and August. An on-site utility room has washing and drying machines (£1 coins), and there is parking for two cars. Families and couples only.

Great place to eat, very clean. Staff are very friendly. Food is always excellent, and the prices are set right, up in the bigger towns and city's I'd expect to be paying double. Because the food quality is the best in Town. From Breakfast to afternoon tea you'll not be disappointed. Home made cakes are to die for. Yum yum 😋.

My Dad Shiraj M booked this Cottage from the 5th of June to 12th June. Words can never explain how lovely it was. The owners were great and made me and my family feel really welcome and the farm was really beautiful and clean. Will definitely return.

Enjoyed our lovely stay around the Jubilee Bank holiday weekend. (5th June-11th June). I have been on many holidays in cornwall but this is by far the best place I have stayed with my family. The farm is extremely clean and well looked aftered and has an amazing view of the hills and background. Lovely couple who own the place we stayed. Definitely recommend anybody looking for a family holiday to stay here and will 100% coming back to stay again next summer. Thank you very much for making our stay memorable and an amazing experience. It was a pleasure meeting you both. Siraj M

Lovely little cottage that allows pets. All basics are supplied in the kitchen and we had everything we needed for a nice stay. Would be cool to be able to buy from a farm shop there or to be able to order basics as part of the booking eg eggs, milk, bread.
