Higher Lanvean Farm - Porth View

Photo: Najmin Begum

Higher Lanvean Farm – Porth View works well for families or small groups seeking a proper base rather than a hotel room. The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms: a double, two singles, and bunks, with one bathroom. A living space with a wood-burner opens onto a patio, and the kitchen has the essentials for self-catering – electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Bed linen, heating and the first £10 of electricity are included; wifi is available throughout.

The property sits on a working organic farm in a rural valley, fifteen acres of woodland with walking trails for guests to explore. Mawgan Porth's sandy beach lies two miles away, and Newquay and Padstow are within eight miles. St Mawgan village, a mile off, has a pub, antique shops and a tea room. There is a barbecue and garden furniture on the patio, and parking for two cars on site. An enclosed garden is provided. Pets are allowed outside July and August. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Great place to eat, very clean. Staff are very friendly. Food is always excellent, and the prices are set right, up in the bigger towns and city's I'd expect to be paying double. Because the food quality is the best in Town. From Breakfast to afternoon tea you'll not be disappointed. Home made cakes are to die for. Yum yum 😋.

My Dad Shiraj M booked this Cottage from the 5th of June to 12th June. Words can never explain how lovely it was. The owners were great and made me and my family feel really welcome and the farm was really beautiful and clean. Will definitely return.

Enjoyed our lovely stay around the Jubilee Bank holiday weekend. (5th June-11th June). I have been on many holidays in cornwall but this is by far the best place I have stayed with my family. The farm is extremely clean and well looked aftered and has an amazing view of the hills and background. Lovely couple who own the place we stayed. Definitely recommend anybody looking for a family holiday to stay here and will 100% coming back to stay again next summer. Thank you very much for making our stay memorable and an amazing experience. It was a pleasure meeting you both. Siraj M

Lovely little cottage that allows pets. All basics are supplied in the kitchen and we had everything we needed for a nice stay. Would be cool to be able to buy from a farm shop there or to be able to order basics as part of the booking eg eggs, milk, bread.
