Rescorla Farm Cottages - Anneth Lowen

Rural Cornwall near Fowey offers the kind of quiet that feels genuine—not quaint or staged. Anneth Lowen is one of two converted barns on a 150-acre working farm, set back from the everyday world but within reach of the coast. The cottage is yours alone for the duration of your stay, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and space for seven. One bedroom has a double and single bed; the other two have a double and a pair of bunks respectively. The living room downstairs has a wood fire, Freeview, and a sofa bed if numbers swell. The kitchen is equipped properly—Aga, dishwasher, hob—and there is a utility room with washer and dryer.

What makes a stay here different is the indoor heated swimming pool, available by rota and shared with the other barn. It measures 6 by 3 metres and runs to 1.2 metres deep, so it is genuinely usable rather than decorative. A games room with a pool table sits on site. Parking is ample, and there is a courtyard garden with furniture for sitting out. Bed linen, towels, heating and electricity are provided, as is wi-fi. The nearest beach is Pentewan, three miles away; Fowey, Par and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all close enough for half-day trips. The Eden Project and Menabilly—the Daphne du Maurier house—are also within driving distance. No smoking throughout.
