Portscatho sits on the Roseland Peninsula, surrounded by some of Cornwall's best coastal walking and a string of beaches worth the journey. Porthcurnick is good for swimming, while Pendower and Towan suit quieter exploration. St Mawes, a short drive away, has Henry VIII's castle and a passenger ferry to Falmouth, which opens onto museums, galleries and harbour-side cafés. Local boat trips run regularly from the area if you want to try spotting seals or seabirds.
Swallows is a single-bedroom cottage attached to a working farm, accessed by footpath. Everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with a wood burner and patio doors opening to a decked terrace; a kitchen with an electric hob, oven and dishwasher; and a bedroom with a double bed, reached via four wooden steps, with an en-suite shower. The terrace has garden furniture and looks out over the countryside. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen, towels and heating are included, along with fuel for the burner and a welcome pack. One car can be parked on site. The cottage suits couples; no children under two are accepted, and smoking is not permitted.
