Talehay Cottages – Coach sits on a working farm approached down a quiet country lane, surrounded by meadowland and countryside a mile from Pelynt village. The 300-year-old Grade II listed farmhouse and its detached stone cottages cluster around a central courtyard, retaining their original character while offering contemporary comfort. You get the whole cottage to yourself: a ground-floor open-plan living space with a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom, plus a kitchen where you can cook properly. Parking is on-site, and there's an electric vehicle charging point if you need it.
The cottage comes with bed linen, wi-fi and heating included. Beyond your own seating area, the wider grounds offer three-and-a-half acres of enclosed meadow – useful if you have a dog – plus a shared barbecue hut and children's play area. Looe itself is five miles south, a working fishing port with beaches and coastal walks nearby. The setting suits anyone after genuine quiet rather than attractions; the beach, Eden Project and other Cornish draws are all within reasonable reach, but you're genuinely set apart from them. No smoking indoors.

We have just had a wonderful time at Talehay. Everything here is perfect. The cottage we stayed in was fantastic, comfortable and had everything you could need when on holiday. The kitchen was very well equipped. We made some lovely meals using locally sourced ingredients from the village store. The grounds here are beautiful specially the field which our dog absolutely loved. Very friendly and welcoming hosts and the local area is just beautiful. Will definitely be coming here again.

Stayed at the lodge with our dog in August 2024. Lovely cottage , clean and comfortable. Very friendly owner who greeted us on arrival with plenty of local knowledge and information. Was lovely touch having a tray of goodies on arrival, scones, jam, cream, biscuits, tea, coffee, milk etc. Beautiful grounds and fabulous dog friendly field. Local shop available for basics. Had a great week and explored the area. Would return.

We stayed in The Coach House, a lovely little place to stay whilst exploring this side of Cornwall. Really clean, great amenities and friendly owners. The grounds of Telehay are beautiful and the large enclosed field at the back was amazing to let the dog off and play fetch.

We had an excellent time on our first visit to Cornwall, as long as you drive this is the perfect getaway to relax and unwind at at the end of each day, staying here left us in a good place to explore many stunning locations, both local and a little further out. Our hosts were fantastic. With some excellent goodies which we did not expect and a lot of great information and local advise. Could not ask for more of a welcome. The cottage was immaculate, it was very obvious a lot of love and care went into its design. There was even every type kitchen ware you could think of, easily the best place we have ever stayed at. You guys have done a fantastic job, would highly recomend a stay to anyone. I now know where i hope to retire! Haha
