Tamar Orchard Barn is a converted stone building on the grounds of Sandhill House Country Retreat, in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Everything is on one floor: a bedroom with a kingsize bed and ensuite shower, a combined living and dining space, and a kitchen equipped with an induction hob and combination microwave-oven. A wood-effect electric heater warms the interior, while the old stable door and original beams retain the building's character. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are included.
The enclosed garden has patio furniture and a barbecue, with a private parking space for one car. One well-behaved dog can stay free of charge, though smoking is not permitted. The barn suits couples looking for countryside peace; note that there is a pond in the garden. Gunnislake railway station sits at the end of the drive, connecting to Plymouth via the scenic Tamar Valley line. Tavistock is four miles away by car, and the wider area holds walking country, mining heritage sites, and easy reach of Dartmoor.
