About Trevose Harbour House

Trevose Harbour House stands on The Warren, the narrow lane that runs between St Ives harbour and Porthminster Beach. The building was taken back to its shell over a two-year restoration and reopened in 2013 as a six-room guest house. The interiors were designed around the colours of the bay: whites, blue-greens and the occasional sharper accent, with mid-century furniture, Cornish art and good lighting throughout.

The six bedrooms are all different. The Harbour View rooms look out towards the water and the working harbour; the Warren rooms face the lane and are quieter on price; the Harbour View Roof Suite at the top of the house has the best outlook and a private terrace. Every room has a decent-sized ensuite with Neal's Yard Remedies toiletries, a flat-screen television, robes, and tea and coffee things. Beds and linen are a clear priority here, and the standard is consistently high.

Downstairs there is a snug with an open fire, an honesty bar, and a stack of newspapers, magazines and paperbacks. Breakfast is served in a bright room at the front and is a proper affair, with Cornish produce, fresh bread and cooked dishes made to order. There are private terraces for guests to use, and the owners also let a small number of self-catering apartments nearby for those who want more space.

The location is the strong point. Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, the harbour beach, Porthmeor and Porthminster are all within a few minutes on foot, and the coast path leads out of town in both directions. Parking is a reserved space in the station car park a short walk away, at a daily charge. The house does not take young children, which suits its quiet, adult-oriented character. Book well ahead for summer.

Absolutely charming and beautiful space, thoughtfully designed and run by Angela and Olivier, who could not have been more kind and welcoming. Olivier’s extensive gourmet breakfast menu alone is worth the splurge. The extra touches throughout the hotel, their concern for guest’s comfort, parking arrangements, etc. all added up to a truly lovely experience of hospitality.

We loved our stay in Trevose Harbour House St Ives in October 2025. The excellent service started before we arrived, with a recommend that we book some restaurants as it was a busy time, and also some great recommendations about the choice of restaurants. The House and the rooms are incredibly beautiful and well fitted out. Breakfast was amazing. The hosts and other staff were fantastic; nothing was too much trouble. We were provided with car parking close by. All up a fantastic place to stay.

Service and food needs six stars! Angela and Oliver are fantastic hosts. Highly knowledgeable about the area, the history. They take time with each guest on arrival to answer any questions. Rooms were super well organized and curated. Vintage teak furnishings lent the rooms and the public areas a tastefully nautical and mid century modern vibe. Very comfortable bed, big beautiful bathroom rounded out the experience.

Angela and Olivier have truly perfected the art of running a B&B. From the moment we arrived (thank you for the earlier check-in!), everything felt just right. The rooms were spotless, the atmosphere warm, and the owners themselves were kind, responsive, and genuinely welcoming. Breakfasts were a highlight (!) — delicious and lovingly prepared each morning by Olivier, and served by Angela. The staff were equally wonderful (massive thanks to Eloise for her kindness), always friendly and attentive. Every detail felt thoughtfully tailored, and we honestly couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful and inviting place to stay in St Ives. Thank you!
