Pleasantly surprised with hotel as Britannia hotels generally get poor ratings. Our roomwas on the 3rd floor and was clean, decent size bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast and evening meals were on a buffet basis but perfectly acceptable. Food was tasty, options reasonable. Bar was decent size, drinks on 2 for 1 basis from6-9 pm. Hotel is right in the centre of Coventry so view not great but there are restaurants and bars within a short walk. Overall not a bad stay considering it was only used a a base for visits to other places. One thing we did notice that all of our tour group were on the 2nd & 3rd floors and only 2 of the 3 lifts were usable. We believe the top floors may well be accommodating asylum seekers but can't be sure of that. Understood from our coach driver that a few of the Britannia hotels are used for the same purpose not that we saw any particular signs of this.

The hotel is located in the city centre which is amazing! Rooms are big and washrooms are pretty clean. Had hot water and heating. Breakfast is good and chefs are really friendly. I would like to say special thanks to Rebecca at the reception for being so kind! There is a little dust and windows could really use some cleaning but overall the stay was comfortable.

I have stayed here before and it wasn’t too bad. However, I had to leave in the middle of the night today due to there being bugs EVERYWHERE. the pictures don’t do it justice, there were ants over the bed, all over the bedside table, behind the bed, on the walls. When we told reception about this they did offer to switch us rooms, no complaints there. but I couldn’t risk it. We also encountered a very rude and moody receptionist when checking in, young girl, she has been like that every time we have stayed there.

Rooms were a bit basic but everything worked and the water was hot. Three stars cos there wasn't a plug near the bed for charging. I was here for a conference and the staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and catered for. The food was tasty and plentiful. The drinks are reasonably priced. The location is also great, right in the city centre.
