About Sky City Apartments

Sky City Apartments works best for travellers who need a simple base for a night or two, whether that's a business trip into Coventry or a short stopover rather than a full holiday. The apartments are self-catering, each with its own kitchen, en-suite bathroom and drinks in the room, giving guests the option to cook rather than eat out every night.

Facilities are geared towards practicality: free WiFi throughout, 24 hour reception for flexible arrivals, family rooms for those travelling with children, and free on-site parking. A pub, bar and restaurant are all nearby for guests who'd rather not cook, and golf, fishing and other entertainment options are within reach for those with time to spare. It's worth noting that some guests have found rooms in need of better upkeep, and the deposit refund process has been described as slow, so it's sensible to check the details on arrival and departure.

Set on Radford Road in Coventry, the location suits anyone who wants easy access to the city without the frills of a full-service hotel. For a straightforward overnight stop with a kitchen and parking included, it covers the basics.

Frankly, if I knew it had 2.9 ranking on Google Review, I wouldn't have booked it. The whole experience has been an awful process. They make the check-in process challenging and the depature process even more challenging and costly. After they sent me their account number to make a £100 deposit payment, I sent them my own account number to make the same deposit back to my account and they said I should go through Booking.com to generate a link! Even after I told them that I had booked it through KeyTravel (Universities in the UK generally use this), they insisted I use Booking.com/expedia to generate a link. Anyway, they said there will be a £7 charge for sending me back MY OWN money. I did not destroy anything in the apartment.... I think they whole thing is a mixture of unfairness & fraud, which is quite sad, because their rooms are neat. I am still waiting for my refund... Take the advice of everyone here and AVOID them!!!!

DO NOT BOOK HERE! there are hidden fees! They make you pay a £100 deposit to get the key! Then deduct hidden fees from it when you ask a number of times to get it back. The rooms are not with the hassle. Book somewhere else for better value with no hidden fees!

I stayed here recently and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. After paying around £90 for the room, I was then required to pay an additional £100 security deposit, which significantly increased the overall cost and was not even on booking.com mentioning this is a thing their customers need to do. The check-in process was also unnecessarily stressful. Customer service is extremely difficult to deal with as they do not answer phone calls and only communicate through messages on Booking.com. Initially I was told I needed to download an app to access the key, but the app didn’t work at all. After a lot of back and forth messaging, they eventually provided a safe code instead, but only after asking for proof of payment that is difficult to provide through Booking.com. The whole process felt disorganised and poorly managed. The apartment itself was average, but another issue was the temperature control. The heating/AC is locked so you can’t adjust it yourself, which meant the room felt hot and stuffy throughout the stay. Even opening the windows didn’t make much difference. The biggest issue came with the security deposit refund. Out of the £100 deposit, only £77 was returned. I was charged £20 for a late checkout, with the claim that I left at 12pm. In reality, checkout is 10am and I left just before 11am. A further £3 was kept as a service fee. It felt very unfair and left a bad impression. (They charge £20 for an hour over check out which is ridiculous!). The only positive during the stay was that the apartment had Netflix. Overall, the experience felt poorly managed and unnecessarily stressful, especially with the communication issues and deposit deductions. Based on my experience, I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to others. Looking at the number of similar negative reviews online, it seems this is a common issue.

Don’t even think about coming to this apartment!!! The bed was unmade, as if someone had slept in it. But that’s not even the main issue they make you pay a £100 deposit, and you’re told you’ll get it back as long as you don’t break any rules, with only £3 taken as a fee. I stayed in the apartment for just 4 hours!! I left everything spotless and even made the bed, which wasn’t made when I found it. I messaged them to send me back the deposit more than 48 hours passed, and I had to call them myself so they would send it. When they finally did, it was £72. Where are the other £28? I have no idea, because they no longer respond to me. I will go to the police because this is not okay, especially since I stayed calm and left the room in perfect condition!
