What visitors say
Fantastic place for a day out with the family of all ages. The house and gardens itself is stunning, with some beautiful woodland walks. Lovely little cafe/bar at the house, as well as the food courtyard in a central area near all the kids activities. Dinosaurs everywhere, playground, tractor track, foot golf, Frisbee golf, medieval village and stage, as well as the Jurassic dinosaur trail and more nature trails. A great day out.

Was really impressed with Fonmon Castle today. Entry prices were fair though it is cheeper to book in advance. Loads to see and do there especially if you like dinosaurs. Was surprised with how empty the place was but no complaints as it ment we was able to wonder as we please. Great place for younger kids. The play areas were well maintained and the staff were very friendly and happy to chat with my preschooler. Would recommend for a good day out. Plenty of picnic spots and the Castle Cafe was good with lots of seating.

The perfect place for a day out with family, slow paced exploring, great for dinosaur fans! Lots of learning, seeing and doing to be had. Some of the walks we usually go on was closed off this time, not sure if that's a temporary thing but we love them walks! The burger van there was very reasonably priced and the food was delicious 😋 (Try the halloumi burger!) Lovely little adventure parks too, you can also play foot golf, disc golf, axe throwing, bow and arrow etc for an extra fee. (£2 per person per game I think if worked out as) Oh and the story trail is lovely too! Plenty of parking, toilets are well spaced out on the main grounds, but not so much in the nature walks (which are closed ATM anyway).

We had a lovely day out at Fonmon Castle, especially for young children who are dinosaur enthusiasts. The walking trails were a good length for our children, with the youngest being almost three years old. I would avoid taking a pushchair, as some of the trails are not accessible, although this is clearly stated when booking tickets online. It's a great place to enjoy a family day out while learning a little about Welsh history. With the recent Welsh Government ticket price reduction, it offers very good value for money. One feature we particularly liked was the children's stamp hunt, where you collect stamps from various locations using a map. However, this was slightly disappointing, as some of the stamp stations were out of order, meaning we had to find the roaming "Wizard" instead. Some of the stamps were also quite faint, making them difficult to use. It's a lovely idea, but it could benefit from a little refinement. We also noticed that several of the animatronic dinosaurs were stationary or not operating. Whether they had been switched off for the day or required maintenance, I'm not sure. Despite this, the children still thoroughly enjoyed seeing them, and we all had a great day overall
