Twelve-acre grass touring park tucked behind the dunes of Black Rock Sands beach

About Black Rock Sands Touring and Camping Park

This twelve-acre grass touring park sits directly behind the dunes at Black Rock Sands, one of the largest and most popular beaches on this stretch of coast near Porthmadog. The position is the main draw: the beach itself is famous for allowing cars to drive onto it at low tide, and it's a five-minute walk from your pitch at any state of the tide. Facilities include unmetered hot showers, a toilet block, disabled wet room, dishwashing area and coin-operated launderette, plus a children's playground.

The site keeps a simple, no-frills character – generators are banned and quiet hours enforced overnight – which suits campers wanting a straightforward pitch close to the sand rather than an activity-heavy holiday park. From here it's a short drive into Porthmadog for shops, the Ffestiniog Railway terminus and restaurants, while Criccieth is easily reached along the coast road and Snowdonia rises inland, making this a practical, beach-focused base for exploring the Llŷn Peninsula.

Great stay at black rock sands. One of the cleanest nicest camp sites we have ever been and we have been loads. Very very clean and tidy great wash facilities and a good park for the kids nothing to much trouble for staff 5 stars all round highly recommend beach 1 min walk aswell.

OMG!!! I cannot rate this place enough. The location is second to none. The facilities are clean and tidy, just what you need. The place is so dog friendly 🐶And for people to slag off and complain about the management haven't even taken the time time to actually speak to them. Emma is superb and will go out of her way to help anyone. The 2 young wardens work their absolute arses off to make everyone comfortable and happy. We will certainly be back, just wish we could stay longer!! Thank you guys♥️

This could be a really nice campsite but the attitude of one of the people in charge spoiled it for us along with the toilets and showers not being clean. There is no parking as you get to the site to be greeted with the unmanned reception, the parking is further down but there's no signs to tell you where to go. I think the place could do with some better signage for arrivals and some better management. One other thing to note and this part has no bearing on the campsite itself but very early in the morning there were some very noisy vehicles racing about on the beach, also the campsite is dog friendly but the beach has a sign saying no dogs allowed.

The only good thing is the beach, the reception you get upon arriving is disgusting, rude , arrogant and very unwelcoming. And early hours of the morning drunk people screaming and fighting even though there is meant to be alquite hour between 11pm and 8am it doesn't exist such a shame as could be a lovely site, the toilets are shut for 2 hours a day for a deep clean which is great just a shame about the welcome you receive upon arriving, wont be staying there again would chose another site close to the beach instead.
