Arkleby Holiday Homes - The Coach House is a converted barn on the edge of the Lake District, sleeping four across two bedrooms. Couples after a quiet break will find the rural setting peaceful; families with a small dog can make full use of the large garden, which includes a sitting area, furniture and barbecue. The property is semi-detached and shares woodland and orchard grounds with neighbouring holiday homes, though you have your own private outdoor space and parking for two cars.

Downstairs holds the first bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs, an open-plan living area takes in views across the Solway Firth; this floor also contains the second bedroom with a kingsize bed, plus a kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. A wood burner warms the living space (logs available for a weekly fee). Essentials including electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided.

Cockermouth, eight miles away, has restaurants, shops, cafes and cycle hire. The garden contains an unfenced pond approximately 150 yards from the house. Smoking is not permitted inside.
