Bracken Howe

Cumberland

Bracken Howe spreads across three floors, opening into a ground floor where the living and dining rooms both have fireplaces and televisions, leading through to a kitchen fitted with a range, dishwasher and separate breakfast area. A downstairs toilet is separate. Upstairs are three bedrooms—a kingsize and two doubles—served by two bathrooms with baths and showers. The top floor holds a fourth bedroom with twin singles, completing space for eight guests.

The property sits on the northern edge of Derwentwater in the village of Portinscale, where you'll find a pub, restaurant and tearooms within reach, and Keswick's shops and attractions are walkable. Most rooms look out toward Grisedale Pike and the Skiddaw range, with glimpses of Bassenthwaite Lake from the elevated position. An enclosed garden and patio with furniture occupy the grounds, and you can park three cars on site. Electricity, Wi-Fi and heating are included. No smoking inside.

Fell walking begins from the doorstep; Whinlatter forest's mountain bike trails and water sports on the lakes are all nearby. The Dodd Wood walking routes and Old Sawmill Tearoom are within three miles.
