About The Willows

Tucked between Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake with dramatic views of Blencathra and Skiddaw, The Willows is a peaceful adults-only retreat for tourers and motorhomes. Electric hardstanding pitches accommodate just a handful of vans at a time, and the immaculately maintained facilities – including a modern wooden shower block – earn consistent praise. The owners are known for their warm welcome and practical local advice, while farm-fresh eggs and dairy are available on site.

A ten-minute stroll brings you to Braithwaite's pub and shop, and Keswick's cafés and galleries are five minutes by car along the A66. Dogs are welcome year-round (on leads, due to nearby livestock), and walking trails fan out directly from your pitch. With campfires allowed and mountain ridges all around, it's a tiny, well-run base for exploring the northern Lakes without the bustle of larger sites.

Visitors say this camping site offers well-equipped safari tents and shepherd huts, along with spacious pitches for campervans, all featuring stunning mountain views. They also highlight the immaculately clean and modern shower and toilet facilities, as well as convenient access to local pubs, cafes, and shops. Guests mention the owners are incredibly welcoming and helpful, providing excellent service and practical advice.

The best glamping experience in the most beautiful surroundings. We stayed in the safari tents which are well equipped and super comfy beds. The Norwegian hot tub was great and easy to use. Shower/toilet block is clean and of a high standard. Most of all Lindsey is a great host super friendly and always on hand to help you make the most of your stay. We'll definitely be back 😍

Me and my partner stayed in the hut for a few nights. It was lovely! Views were stunning! The hosts were very friendly and was willing to help with all my questions. They also supplied their own products from their farm. The hot tub over looks the beautiful mountains. Definitely a breakfast with a view I’ll miss. Will 100% be back! X ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
