Ireby is a quiet village in the northern reaches of Cumberland, far enough from the main Lake District crowds to feel genuinely remote, yet close enough to walk to open country. Damson Lodge occupies the upper floors of a former inn building right in the village centre, giving you the peace of a rural setting without isolation. The property is yours alone, with space to spread across two storeys and more than one room to settle into.
Downstairs holds the main living room, where rooftop views across to the surrounding fells make the views the real focal point rather than a bonus. The dining room is separate, useful for cooking-heavy holidays, and the kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with a washing machine included. A bathroom with bath and shower serves both floors. Upstairs, a second sitting room provides extra breathing room, while a double bedroom and a sofa bed (which also serves as occasional sleeping space) mean the one bedroom layout actually accommodates four people comfortably. Heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; wifi is available. A woodburning stove adds warmth and character on cooler days. The village has no accommodation in the traditional pub setting these days, so the atmosphere is genuinely quiet rather than centred around a bar. Street parking is nearby. Smoking is not permitted.
