Halls Bank Cottages works well for families and larger groups wanting space to spread out across a whole property. The 17th-century sandstone farmhouse has four bedrooms split between two floors—a ground-floor twin and ensuite, plus upstairs a four-poster double with ensuite, a second double, and another twin sharing a bathroom. This layout means parents can have privacy while children sleep nearby, or extended families can each claim their own zone.
The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering: electric range, dishwasher, microwave, and laundry facilities mean you're not scrambling to cook or hand-wash. Downstairs there's a living room with an open fire and dining space. Essentials including bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are covered. The hot tub is available for hire, and a shared heated indoor pool on the farm grounds can be booked privately at set times, complete with sauna and Jacuzzi. A cot, highchair and Z-bed are available if needed. Outside, a garden has furniture and a shared paddock runs alongside a beck. One dog is welcome.
The location puts you four miles from the Solway coast's beaches and coastal walks, with Allonby and Silloth nearby for harbourside cafés and shops. Keswick and the northern Lake District are within reach, while the position near Wigton means fewer crowds than central Lakes resorts.

Absolutely stunning "home from home" we stayed in Beckside for 4 nights and I really wish I didn't have to come home! Set in beautiful, scenic surroundings, this cottage has everything you need and more! The cottage is wheelchair friendly and has fab accessibility in the outdoor areas too without being "clinical" Private hot tub and shared swimming pool/sauna/jacuzzi was amazing. The onsite animals were an added bonus. Its not everyday you can wake up to cows in your back yard! Fell in love with the place and with 'Tilly Cat' who visited us often to curl up in a warm spot. Carole, our host was on hand for anything we needed/wanted and is so warm, welcoming and friendly. Chatting to her, felt like I'd known her years. Lovely, lovely lady and goes above and beyond to make your stay as fabulous as it can be. Lots to do in the local areas, although we did much of nothing but relax and recharge! We can't wait to return. This is a real gem of a place!
