Holmegarth

Holmegarth is a converted barn sleeping four, positioned between the Solway Coast and the northern fells. The ground floor contains an open-plan living space with a wood burner, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and the first of two bedrooms with an ensuite wet room. Upstairs, the second bedroom also has its own ensuite with bath and shower. Both bedrooms feature zip-and-link beds that can be pushed together or kept separate. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; the initial fuel for the burner is too.

The real draw here is the hot tub on the private patio. Just beyond the property, Arkleby Leisure offers an indoor heated pool, sauna and jacuzzi available for pre-booked hourly slots. The setting puts you on the quieter, western side of the Lakes—the Solway Coast is four miles away, Cockermouth six, and Bassenthwaite Lake also six. For those interested in fishing, the River Ellen has salmon and trout and sits a mile down the road. The property itself is non-smoking, and there is parking for two cars.
