Moorside Glamping Pods - Stainton
Cumberland
Photo: Google Maps
Stainton is one of six timber pods built on Moorside, a 170-acre working beef farm near the Lake District and coast. The setting is genuinely rural—open countryside, shared landscaped grounds, and space for guests to move around—yet the pods themselves offer creature comforts you would not expect from camping. Each one sits on its own decked area with garden furniture, a private retreat within the larger site.
Inside, the pod sleeps five across a double bedroom, a room with bunk beds, and a sofa bed in the open-plan living space. There is a small kitchen with a hob and microwave for cooking, a shower room with heated towel rail, and underfloor heating throughout. Bed linen and towels are provided, as are electricity and the essentials to make the space feel like home. The living area has a television, though by design the pods have no Wi-Fi—a deliberate choice if you are trying to step back from constant connectivity. One dog travels free; horses can use the stabling and paddocks by arrangement.
The farm location suits people wanting to explore the Lake District or reach the coast without staying in a town. Parking for two cars is on site. Check-in is after 15:00 and departure before 10:00. Smoking is not permitted.
