Built from stone with ash and slate floors, Over Brandelhow sits on the southern slope of Catbells facing across Derwentwater toward the Borrowdale Valley. The cottage is semi-detached and wholly yours, sleeping six across three bedrooms with two bathrooms. Ground floor holds a double and a zip-and-link bed (convertible to twin singles), plus a family bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs, two single beds share an ensuite shower room.

The open-plan ground floor combines living and dining space around an electric woodburner, with patio doors onto a terrace where you can sit among garden furniture. The kitchen is fitted with a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave—everything needed for proper cooking. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The garden attracts red squirrels and woodpeckers; there is off-street parking for two cars.

From the cottage you step straight onto Catbells fell. A path through Manesty Woods leads down to Brandelhow jetty on the lake, and the Allerdale Ramble crosses the fell behind the house. Walking options include circuits of the lake, the Newlands Valley, and south toward Honister Pass. Keswick is accessible by road, and the ferry service from nearby Brandelhow reaches Lodore and Keswick by water. No smoking inside.

Extremely well-maintained cottage with an especially nice terrace and a kitchen good enough to cook real meals. Relaxed vibe.
