Wigton sits on the edge of open countryside, with Skiddaw and the northern fells visible across the landscape. Skiddaw View is a three-storey house on two floors, arranged to give the main living spaces downstairs and bedrooms up. It sleeps six: one double bedroom and two twin rooms, with two bathrooms between them. The ground floor holds a kitchen with a gas cooker, dishwasher and fridge, an open-plan living and dining area with an electric woodburner, and access to parking.

Bed linen and towels are provided, along with electricity and heating. The house takes one pet at no extra cost. There is a pub within walking distance, and a shop and restaurant nearby. No smoking inside. Most guests come for access to the Lake District's walking routes—Skiddaw itself, Derwent Water, and the passes and ridges that spread northward from here. The fells are the draw, though Wigton itself has its own quiet character away from the busier tourist towns closer to Keswick.

Fantastic stay in an extremely clean caravan which was beautifully appointed. Everything we needed for a short stay was catered for. Park is well organised, clean & peaceful. Also well situated for visiting the area. Will definitely be returning at some point in the future.

A fantastic place with stunning views and great value for money. We stayed in the pet-free Birch Lodge which was immaculately clean and very well-maintained. The kitchen was very well equipped and the whole lodge had a home-from-home feel. The site was so quiet and we spotted lots of wildlife. The location was ideal for getting away from the main, busy tourist areas with easy access to main roads leading in all directions, and lovely hiking routes nearby. We will definitely look to stay here again on a return to The Lakes and are recommending here to friends and family.

Absolutely brilliant stay in The Elite Two. Lovely holiday park with an amazing view. Our elite accommodation was amazing and had everything in it you could possibly need for self catering. Very dog friendly place with nice warm dog shower, doggy field and even a special doggy agility park. Only complaint is that we had to come home at the end of our stay, however we have made sure that we are booked back in again for our next stay very soon.

Brilliant site, one of the best I have stopped on in the lakes. Mostly impressed with the caravan. The lay out of it was amazing. Lots of space and storage and all the mode cons. Lovely clean site and very quiet peaceful place. Great location to get to the lakes, coast and the main towns. Can not recommend it enough will definitely be booking again. Thanks John.
