Many campsites are within easy striking distance of Denbigh itself, Ruthin and the North Wales coast, meaning a pitch here works equally well as a base for castle-hopping, coastal days out, or simply walking straight from the tent into the hills. As with anywhere in this part of Wales, midge and weather variability should be expected, so a flexible itinerary and decent waterproofs are worth packing alongside the usual kit.
