About Crewe & Harpur by Marstons Inns

A hearty breakfast and a restaurant menu form the backbone of a stay at Crewe & Harpur by Marstons Inns, a pub-hotel on Woodshop Lane in Derby. Kids meals are available alongside the main menu, and the garden and outdoor seating give an option for eating or drinking outside when the weather allows, with drinks also available to order to your room.

Rooms are en-suite, with family and accessible options among them, and free WiFi throughout. Reception operates around the clock, so arrival times are flexible, and meeting rooms are on hand for anyone combining the stay with work. Free on-site parking takes the stress out of driving in.

The surrounding area has plenty to fill spare time, with a golf course and fishing nearby for those wanting to get outdoors, plus further pubs, bars and restaurants close by for evenings out. It suits guests who want straightforward comfort and convenience over central Derby glamour.

We had a lovely stay here. Rooms are good and the bar is open till late. The dinner was of good standard and well priced. Drinks here are expensive so be cautious. Cheapest lager was a Carlsberg for £5.40. Neckoil and Guinness were the most expensive prices I have seen for a long time (someone living in London). Overall would stay again and the rooms were nice.

Perfect drop in place to eat to a good standard. The reason I chose 4* was the table layout which were very close together and privacy was compromised. There were many tables available in other areas. I accept I should have expressed my concern to the host. I will return of course. 👍

This place at the time of my visit was shall we say in flux. The rooms are amazing the way old meets new is genius and the quaint location is amazing. The food was good and the staff amazing but Marstons please invest in more staff here. The staff here did everything possible to make it an amazing visit but 3 front end staff to cover the hotel, bar and all other areas I lay purely at your feet. They were running at 100% and still letting your customers down due to what I can only assume is corporate cost cutting Give them a raise and hire more staff from the community to make sure they don't have have to endure this again.

First off the location. Absolutely beautiful location next to the fabulous Swarkestone bridge giving up some wonderful sunsets and sunrise pictures plus the bridge itself. Quick and easy check in thanks to the lovely lady on reception. Room cold on arrival, I mean COLD! Heating should be on ready for the guests to arrive. It's a bit dated and the decor needs a refresh but no complaints about the shower or the bed. Shower powerful if a touch erratic with the temperature. Bed was so comfortable. We ate in the bar, good menus including the Christmas specials. All good and washed down with a couple of Pedigree 👍👍 Lovely cooked to order breakfast, omelette and black pudding with lovely coffee. Again served by great staff. Will definitely be using it again. Thank You
