Visited, at the weekend, for Sunday lunch. We sat in the bar area, which we prefer to the restaurant as it is spacious and has an informal feel to it. The service at the bar and table was exemplary, very friendly and professional. We all opted for the carvery, which was delicious. The person serving the meat was excellent and provided a generous portion. The beef was well cooked, as were all of the vegetables. We were really pleased to see roast parsnips as an option this visit. We really can't fault the Lodge. It was the best carvery experience we have had for a very long time.

We had a lovely evening celebrating our friend Carol's 65th birthday. I had booked a table in advance but one didn't appear to be ready. That was quickly resolved. The young lady behind the bar was so lovely as was Tabitha, our waitress was very attentive. It was super busy as they had a 40% offer on which we hadn't realised so when Tabitha brought the bill over, it was a pleasant surprise.

Our waitress today was Tabitha. She was very polite and friendly, which made our meal extremely pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she is a real credit to the team. Excellent service throughout, thank you, Tabitha!
