Swallows Return is a converted farmhouse at Wolfscote Grange Farm, where the building sits within working countryside rather than perched above it. The property spreads across two floors: downstairs holds a king bedroom, two singles, and a bathroom; upstairs opens into a generous combined living and dining space, kitchen, a further king bedroom with its own shower room. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen and wi-fi—are covered, and the kitchen is properly equipped for cooking. Outside, a patio and garden furniture back onto grassed and wooded areas that slope down to the farm's meadows.
The grange sits within easy reach of Wolfscote Dale and the River Dove, with marked trails across the farmland available by arrangement. A wildlife pond on the grounds attracts birds and other life. Hartington village, about a short distance away, has pubs and cafes. The Tissington Trail for cycling lies four miles off; Carsington Water is accessible for water sports. The Peak District National Park spreads beyond the immediate landscape. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and welcomes one pet. Smoking is not permitted.

Was a lovely little shepherds hut.views were absolutely beautiful...there was no personal touch.. for the price we personally wouldn't go back to here again..but enjoyed the time we were there.

If you want authentic country cottage down narrow country lanes, surrounded by sheep and cows, then this is the place for you. Nothing is perfect but everything is comfortable and there is great walk down the river to the village.

Beautiful secluded location. Really experienced the Peak District here. Narrow, stoned walled roads up to the cottage with spectacular views at the top. The sun sets at the front of the cottages, set on a working farm so plenty of country sounds and views. Cosy, clean and well equipped cottage. Couldn’t fault the service, had a personal tour of the farm which was really interesting and informative. Walk down to the river was beautiful, just not ideal for anyone with mobility restrictions or prams. Peaceful at night with no noise, private and warm. 5/5 from us!

A superb place to stay! Cottage beautiful, clean and very well equipped. Kids loved it and had regular tours of the cows. A straightforward walk down to the River Dove & steady walk up to the trig point for beautiful views. An interesting drive up the lane, but it's all part of the charm. Owners are lovely and very hospitable. A wonderful week had by all. Every star well earned!
