About Dipple Farm
Fancy upping the family's green credentials while soaking up the North Devon countryside? This eco-friendly spot on a working farm near Bideford delivers lovely Torridge Valley views stretching towards Dartmoor, plus a genuinely wild camping vibe. Straight from your pitch, wander through flower-rich meadows to Dipple Water for paddling and pooh-sticks, or follow riverside paths into peaceful walking country. Chickens and ducks roam freely, while deer, badgers, buzzards and kingfishers provide the entertainment – you could spend whole days just wildlife-watching.
Each pitch has its own firepit (farm wood available), and there's an edible garden where you can pick seasonal herbs, salad and strawberries. Borehole drinking water is additive-free, composting loos and bathrooms are built from estate timber, and washing-up is eco-products only. The West Barn offers device charging, fridge space and freezer packs. Facilities can feel fairly basic for some tastes, but that's rather the point here – this is back-to-basics camping done thoughtfully, with nature and sustainability at its heart.

What visitors say
Dipple farm is a haven away from home. The Shepard’s hut is a really calm clean space with everything you could need. I have stayed here multiple times as well as the cottage and the camping site. The nature walk to the river is easy, breathtaking and is really well managed. Great for young and old alike. The fire pits in the camping area is a really nice touch with a little farm shop on the field for good bbq meats and ice creams. Will definitely be returning soon!

AVOID! Struggled to get to the accommodation due to a very poorly maintained road. On arrival my other half slipped and fell over on the muddy field to the shepherds hut as there is no safe path. We then went on to discover the toilet isn't a real toilet, but a plastic bag! And to top things off the fridge was leaking across the floor. We turned around and went to a different air bob that same night. The hosts then refused to refund us, as we did not notify them to solve the problem in the pitch black and rain. I would love to know how they were planning on building a footpath and replacing the toilet!! Just after our intended stay the farm posted on Facebook how they are no longer renting out the premises due to the wet weather.... I travel for my work, and this is by far the worst place I've been to stay at, and definitely the worst customer service.

A perfect rural campsite in North Devon, limited to 10 pitches across a large field. Each pitch is large and has a bench, fire pit and edible raised bed. Showers are always hot and powerful, and eco toilets are well maintained. There is a well stocked honesty shop and a barn with books and games. The bonus for us was its one of only a few dog free sites. The owner Carol so welcoming and helpful. An absolute joy to visit and definitely one to return to.
