A stone townhouse on Smithfield Square has been reworked into Y Meirionnydd Boutique Hotel, an adults-only property in the heart of Dolgellau with recently refurbished rooms that keep a cosy, comfortable feel. Bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided in the room, and several look out over the garden or towards the surrounding mountains.
Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar serving breakfast and a menu that runs from burgers and curry to Sunday roasts, plus outdoor seating for warmer days. Staff are on hand around the clock at 24 hour reception and are known for pointing guests towards the best local walks and cycling routes. Pets are welcome, and parking is available nearby for a charge rather than on site.
Dolgellau itself sits within easy reach of Snowdonia's trails, and the square is close to further pubs, bars and restaurants for evenings out. It's a compact, walkable base for exploring the mountains rather than a resort with its own grounds, suited to guests who want comfort after a day outdoors.

One word.......... Amazing !!!!! We spent the night here for a family birthday, and what can i say........ What a beautiful hotel in a lovely little town. Our host could not be anymore helpful and made us all feel so welcome. The hotel has been recently refurbished to a very very high standard too. We’ve just been for lunch and it was fabulous! Gorgeous food- I had the curry and my husband had the pie. We both cleared our plates! And our 4 and 3 year olds loved their fish fingers and chicken goujons. Service was perfect and the hotel itself is just so inviting and cosy. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I booked a room for a few weeks ago. The staff were lovely, telling us about all the nicest walking spots and giving us advice on what to do. The room was gorgeous, incredibly clean and comfortable. It’s in the middle of the loveliest little town, with the sweetest shops and buses that run most of the day. Honestly it was the perfect weekend, completely stress free!

Had Sunday lunch here 26.4.26, celebrating my birthday. We had fishcakes and caprese salad for first course and both had roast beef for main course. Plenty of fresh vegetables and cauliflower cheese were very tasty. We were too full for pudding. Excellent service from Kate and Liz. We will be back.
