About Tan Y Fron Holiday Park

Perched on terraced pitches with sweeping views over Dolgellau and the surrounding hills, Tan Y Fron Holiday Park makes a quietly impressive base for exploring southern Snowdonia. The toilet and shower blocks are kept spotless, and the level hard-standing pitches – alongside static caravans and camping pods – benefit from electric hook-up and reliable WiFi. Staff are helpful without fuss, and the park's real strength is location: Dolgellau's cafés, shops and pubs are only a short walk away, yet you're surrounded by countryside.

Prices are reasonable, dogs are welcome, and the site stays open year-round, making it a practical choice for off-season visits. While the facilities are well-maintained rather than luxurious, everything works as it should, and those views from your pitch more than compensate.

What visitors say

One of the best sites I have camped in. Level terraced pitches with grass mown short, easy to push pegs into; hedges, walls and terracing provide privacy; excellent views across the valley; smart toilet/shower block (showers included); pleasant laundry room, washing machine (£1 coins), tumble dryer (£1 coins), ironing board & iron (20p coins); warm inside washing up room; WiFi included; friendly owners and Sue offers device charging. Just a few minutes walk from Dolgellau town centre with its many pubs, cafés, shops and buses in all directions to Barmouth, Machynlleth, Bangor etc. Well worth the £16 I paid to camp overnight.

Lovely looking site in a great location about 5mins walk from town. I was solo backpacking. Sue, the owner, was lovely and loaned me a chair and a golfing umbrella for shade. The reception sold bits and bobs and a co-op is 5mins away. Some old school touches (hot water in the laundry room is 10p) but that added to the charm.

Booked 4 nights so we could ride the local trails. Clean and comfortable accommodation with great facilities. The view was amazing. Access to Dolgellau is just a short walk with a great selection of pubs and restaurants. Will be back again soon. Thanks to all involved.

Beautiful village and the site was perfect. Reasonable price. Pet friendly. We walked down in to the village which has a plenty of food options and live music in an evening. Buses from the village take you to Barmouth if you don't want to drive.
