What visitors say
Lovely campsite, clean facilities with hot showers (20p per 2 minutes) and a nice washing up station with hot water. I really recommed coming here as a base to explore the local area! It can get quite windy at times being on a hill, so I recommend taking a windblock or something similar. Lovely sea view and with public footpaths nearby.

I've stayed at Acton Field once before when unable to get in to Tom's Field, back in the days when TF didn't take bookings, and camped close to the top boundary hedge for shelter from the wind. This time though, the campsite was super busy it being a Bank Holiday weekend so no sheltered spots available. I had a quick response to my booking enquiry from the lovely owners. I pitched close to the middle track on a relatively flat area and was able to park next to the tent. I knew the showers had a charge, but I thought 40 pence for a lovely hot shower in a clean bathroom (which always had loo roll in the loos) was money well spent. Agree that the washing up area was a bit small, especially with several D of E groups in too, but you just get chatting in the queue. I stayed three nights, £20 per night no EHU, no extra charge for my dog, and loved the little van in the morning with pastries etc ringing a school dinner bell as they drive round the site. I was amazed how many units got crammed in to the field, it is quite Teletubby Land looking but it worked, tricky to pitch the huge tents on flat ground I imagine. If you're looking for no frills, basic, but functional safe campsite (solo female traveller) within a short walk from the Priest's Way, the South West Coast Path, and Dancing Ledge, Chapman's Pool, Durlston Country Park and a short drive to Swanage, Corfe and Tyneham etc, I'd recommend Acton Field.

Lovely campsite with nice facilities. Unfortunately my daughter came to stay and there was a slight mixup regarding pricing, but this was quickly and courteously resolved with great communication throughout. We would definitely recommend this campsite and will hopefully visit again soon.
