About Portesham Dairy Farm Campsite
Just outside Portesham village, this working dairy farm offers one of those campsite experiences where someone's clearly sweating the details. Spotless showers with proper water pressure, immaculate pitches across generous grass and hardstanding plots, and genuinely helpful staff who know what they're doing — it all adds up to somewhere refreshingly well-run. The 24-hour vending machines are a thoughtful touch for late arrivals or early departures, stocking more than just the usual crisps and chocolate.
You're well placed for exploring the Jurassic Coast and Dorset's inland villages, with a decent farm shop, café and pub all within easy reach. The atmosphere stays pleasantly quiet even when busy, and dogs are welcome. It's open year-round, making it a solid base whether you're touring in summer or chasing winter walks along the coast path.

What visitors say
Just returned from this site. No waiting till 13:00 to book in, you can arrive at 10:00 and provided your pitch is available you can use it. The pitch we had, a semi services was great, a large stoned pitch with grass with plenty of room for our 7.5 Motorhome and awning. Toilet/shower block very clean as was the site itself. Great vending machine area, open 24hour from milk shakes, coffee, pizzas and some essentials you may have forgotten. A huge dog walking field and a lovely pub 5 minutes walk away. Surrounding area beautiful and site within easy reach of Weymouth, Bridport and Dorchester, bus stop just 2 minutes walk from entrance. A great site that we would definitely use again.

As a member of the Camping & Caravan Club, we decided to try an independent campsite for the late may BH weekend. We were impressed from the start; allowed to arrive 3 hours early to see if our pitch was available was a real bonus. The pitch was available and the campsite had emailed us what pitch number we'd be on 24 hours prior to our arrival, they also included the exact location using What3Words which was great. On entry we didn't have to check-in, the ANPR camera recognised our registration and the barriers let us in straight away. Our pitch (medium grass semi-serviced) was of a really generous size 8x5m and gave us plenty of room for our campervan and awning. Facilities on site were immaculate clean and were continuously inspected and cleaned throughout the day. The showers were high spec and modern, unlike many of the low powered cold showers you might experience at other sites. It is quite a large site so can be quite noisy (especially dogs) but that is not the fault of the site, more to do with dog owners who can't control their animals. The local pub nearby is a 6 minute walk and there are lovely country footpaths you can walk to Chesil Beach in about an hour (3.5 miles each way) without having to walk dawn the busy roads. I would highly recommend this campsite.

Just got back from a week here and what a beautiful site. Normally always use CC sites, but visited here after recommendations. The site is in an idyllic location, spotlessly clean amenities blocks and lovely helpful staff. You can tell the owner takes personal pride in the site. We had a small little issue out of the campsites control and the owner visited us in person to apologise. Was not there fault by any means. Will definitely be back, and you should visit too. You really wont be disappointed. A real credit to the staff and owners

A gem of a site, with a friendly team working hard to ensure everything is tip top for your stay. The facilities are always clean and reception always welcoming. Opting for semi serviced pitches means their is never a tap too far away, but other pitch types are available. The vending machines at 'the old mill' add another dimension- with the milk shake machine being a firm favourite with young and old alike. I am told the pizza machine is good too, but have yet to try it, as there is a lovely pub (the Kings arms) just up the road and a cafe/farm shop even closer.
